BMW Sauber have become the fourth F1 team to launch their 2008 cars this month.
The german team launched the F1.08 in Munich at the Olympia Park in the city, overlooking the BMW factory and museum.
The team are hoping that the F1.08 can build on their superb season in 2007 and reward them with more points.
Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica are the retained drivers with the team.
The new car features developments from last season, and X-Wings on the engine box. It features a very similar livery, with BMW Sauber continuing partnerships with their main sponsors into 2008, the main addition being T-Systems who have an advert along the cockpit side.
BMW Sauber have also opted for the BBS Wheel-covers, pioneered in 2006 by Ferrari and now utilised by many teams including Renault and Toyota.
“We have come quite a long way in two and a half years since the new team was created,” said BMW motorsport chief Mario Theissen during the launch.
“We had two strong seasons and we spent a lot of effort on the new car. The F1.08 includes everything we learned, everything we experienced in the past two years. It will be a big step forward again.
“We are very confident to turn the battle with the cars in front of us into a battle with more than two years.”
Nick Heidfeld commented;
“I am very, very excited because I know people in the factory are happy with the progress,”
“It is the most beautiful car I have seen. I know it doesn’t mean anything for speed but I am looking forward to the next few weeks.”
