Danica Wants F1 Run
1 05 2008Danica Patrick has stated her desire to get behind the wheel of an F1 car, not long after winning her first IRL event.
The female driver fancies a shot at the top class circuit racing series of F1, after taking America by storm gaining many records and accolades.
She admitted that a full time F1 race seat is probably a long way off, but a test would be fun.
“Every driver would love to drive a Formula One car at some point in their life, so yeah,” she told this weeks Autosport Magazine.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a real, proper test.
“I was asked to do a demonstration lap at Indy in 2005, and I said, ‘No way. You’re making me a show. That’s embarrassing.’ But I would say that a real test is absolutely something I would do.”
Meanwhile, to get the “Silly Danica signing season” going, Nick Fry of Honda wants her to try one of his cars.
“We haven’t instigated anything, but if Danica wanted to be test driver then we’d be more than happy to talk about it,”
There are rumors that Danica will test drive for Honda at the end of the 08 season. But the people at Honda keep going back and forth saying she is and then the next day saying they have no plans for letting her test for a spot. I don’t know what is true.
