In an astonishing twist to the Super Aguri tale, this week their trucks have been refused access to the Turkish GP paddock.
The struggling F1 team’s future is basically under a cloud more black than ths font. A bid for their future was made by Weigl, but Honda have discounted it believing that the German company wouldn’t have the resources to support the team.
Considering Magma’s deal fell through, Honda don’t want it and want to get rid of it ASAP it would have made sense to just let the team go to Weigl who clearly want it, but oh no they have to make a big deal out of it.
Nick Fry said this;
“Our position is that Honda have given Super Aguri every available bit of support over and above what was anticipated.
“We tried to help as much as possible and Honda never intended to fund two F1 teams. We’ve gone way beyond what was ever originally anticipated. Now Aguri has got to find some money.
“It would appear unlikely that a company the size of Weigl is able to support a competitive Formula One team, unless of course there are other partners of which we have not been made aware.”
