Is Donington’s Secret Investor Bernie Ecclestone?

6 07 2008

Rumour mills within the paddock believe that the “secret” Donington Circuit investor is in fact Bernie Ecclestone.

The people who run the circuit have said that the £100million is being put forward by a secret backer who wishes to remain annonymous, but is English.

With the GP moving from Silverstone to a circuit which is definitely not ready for F1, despite being a fantastic track, it looks likely that this investor is Bernie. It makes sense, because within 10 years of £10million being brought in he would have made his money back and he would not have to pay for any entrance fees.

Buying Istanbul Park and securing the Turkish GP there for many years to come proves that the little man is involved directly with circuits.

If this is true, then it will certainly anger the BRDC who were desperate to keep the race at Silverstone.

Bernie Ecclestone

As i said before this is unsupported rumour, so may not necessairly be true.

It would seem to myself and a number of F1 fans that if it is not RED and sporting FERRARI on it that Bernie Ecclestone could not give a dam.
You need only mention the words (Ferrari) and (Michael Schumacher) to see Bernie bow down to their every whim and dismiss the other teams that make up the grid. After all if they were not there it would be rather boring.
This must not be allowed if the sport is to continue, and the fans see fair play.
