Di Resta Claims To Have Pen To Paper On F1 Test Deal

1 01 2009

Scottish driver Paul di Resta claimed to a British tabloid newspaper that he has, or is at least about to put pen to paper on a test drive deal with an F1 Team.

The DTM driver, who was nearly the champion in the series in 2008, was in with a shot of the Force India drive after they signed a deal with McLaren for parts and intellegence sharing.  However, Force India kept both drivers and this pushed Di-Resta’s dreams of an F1 drive out a little.

There is no word on which team he has signed with, but with a Mercedes deal in DTM – a series which he may keep competing in while a test driver – and Anthony Hamilton as his manager the chances are it will be with Force India or McLaren Mercedes.

“I’m close to putting pen to paper on a deal. Formula One remains a possibility,” The 23 year old told The Daily Record.
