Jerez Testing Day 1
The final official test of the 2008 F1 season kicked off today at the Jerez Circuit, which recently passed FIA regulations again after much needed work on the circuit and surroundings.
The day was a “young driver” day, as allocated in the rules, and 3 teams brought young drivers to test new parts.
BMW Sauber’s young tester Marko Asmer was fastest of the day, completing 79 laps.
Spaniard Dani Clos made his debut in an F1 car with Williams, the F3 driver finished 2nd after 75 laps.
Mike Conway was behind the wheel of the Honda, doing 20 laps and testing their KERS system. He was 2 seconds off the pace.
