F2 Prize, A Test With Williams
The brand new F2 series has been unveiled, and Jonathan Palmer also revealed that its top prize will be a test with the Williams F1 Team, for the champion.
Palmer who runs Motorsport Vision the team behind the series, along with the FIA is determined that the budget racing series will work, and something like this test will attract teams and drivers.
It is all possible because Williams are designing the cars which will take to the track in 2009, and also because Palmer used to race with them.
“I am absolutely determined that Formula 2 will attract the greatest depth of talent by virtue of its extraordinary cost effectiveness, and produce most of the best future F1 star talent in the coming years,” Palmer, who was both a Williams driver and an F2 champion, said.
Unlike GP2, the Bernie Ecclestone run “F1 Feeder” the F2 races will be held alongside the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) races.
