Mallya Set To Make Big Investment In QPR Soccer Team
Vijay Mallya, the Indian billionaire who owns the Kingfisher brand and Force India F1 team is said tro be about to announce a huge investment into the Queen’s Park Rangers Soccer team.
Mallya would join Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Indian metals billionaire Lakshmi Mittal in being part of the club, which looks to be turning into F1 United.
Mallya’s part in the team would appear to be a $35million, 5 year deal to sponsor the team’s shirts and also possibly a renaming of the stadium, currently called Loftus Road. Will ie be the Kingfisher Arena perhaps?!
An announcement is coming next week, according to British newspaper The Daily Mail who broke the story in their sports pages.
