Mallya Considering 2009 Driver Change – Claims He Has Made No Decisions
Vijay Mallya appears to be backtracking on his earlier claims that both Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella will be driving for his Force India team next season by claiming that neither driver has a secure seat and he is open to possibilities.
Both Sutil and Fisichella have claimed alongside Mallya that they have solid contracts for 2009.
However, all of these claims came before a technical agreement was signed between Force India and McLaren, leading rumour to suggest that Pedro de La Rosa (who has tested with FI), Gary Paffett and DTM ace Paul di Resta are in with a shot of landing drives at the team.
“One McLaren test driver has already tested our car,” he told the BBC.
“They bring the McLaren experience with them.
“We haven’t finalised anything on the race seat. I will discuss this issue with McLaren and take this decision at an appropriate time,” Mallya added.
