Alonso Fastest In Jerez Test Day 4
Fernando Alonso shot to the top of the timesheets on day 4 of the Jerez tests.
The Spaniard was just in front of Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari, a car which is showing consistently good pace.
“I’m very happy with the result from this test as we had two trouble-free days, a very consistent car and the work we have done has been very useful,” said Alonso.
Heidfeld followed in 3rd, he seems to have got control of the car now and can pump out fast lap times. Next was Jarno Trulli who said that wind hampered the test programme, but still managed to put 131 laps on the board.
Webber and Nakajima were next with relatively low key days.
Lewis Hamilton was only 7th, an engine exploded in the back of the McLaren in the morning (see post below) but he still managed 79 laps.
Adrian Sutil propped up the times as he got used to the VJM02, a car showing it is close to the rivals.
