Monaco GP 2009: Button Snatches Pole From Raikkonen

Jenson Button made it 4 pole positions in 2009 snatching it away from Kimi Raikkonen right at the end of Q3 in the principality of Monaco today.

Button’s Brawn lapped 0.025 seconds faster than a much imporved Ferrari, which is believed to be heavy on fuel at the hands of the 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen.

Button’s team mate Barrichello just beat Sebastian Vettel to 3rd place, and Felipe Massa rounded off the top 5 despite a crash in Q1 where he knocked his nose off into Swimming Pool 2.

There was heartbreak for Lewis Hamilton, his luck diminishing fast as he slammed the McLaren into the barriers in Q1, breaking the rear suspension and forcing a red flag with 8 minutes to go.  He will start 16th tomorrow.

Hamilton will be joined by both BMW’s and Toyota’s who are clueless to their lack of pace.

It was a good day for Force India who got both of their cars into Q2.
