March F1 Team To Make F1 Comeback From 2010 If Accepted

The March Grand Prix team last seen in F1 in 1992 have made an entry to join F1 in 2010, Autosport Magazine has revealed today in an exclusive scoop.

The race team went bankrupt ahead of the 1993 season, and the name was bought by the chairman of Swindon Town Football Club, a Mr Andrew Fitton.

Fitton now wants to run the team again especially with the possibilites of new rules involving a budget cap.

They didn’t want to be interviewed yet, they preferred to wait until June 12 when all of the new teams will be announced and who is through will be confirmed by the FIA.  There are a few places for new teams, about a ratio of 3 new teams to every one place.

March made chassis for Ken Tyrell and had 3 Grand Prix victories to their name.  Jackie Stewart put a March Tyrell onto the pole position of its first ever race.  Things weren’t so good at the end as they scraped a handful of points in 1992.
