Ricciardo Ends Jerez Rookie Test As Fastest Man

Daniel Ricciardo helped his chances of getting the Scuderia Toro Rosso second race seat by ending the final day of rookie testing in Jerez as the fastest driver at the wheel of the Red Bull.

The young Australian is being speculated as driving with Toro Rosso, the Red Bull junior team instead of Jaime Alguersuari in 2010.

Paul di Resta had another satisfying day slipping the Force India into second, ahead of Gary Paffett and Mike Conway.

New Williams driver Nico Hulkenberg put in over 100 laps on his way to 5th, in front of Betrand Baguette who made his Sauber debut on the day in which they were confirmed to have a grid slot.  Consistent performances from the Belgian must help his chances of a possible race or test role within the Hinwil based team.

11th to 13th were Ferrari youngsters, while Brendon Hartley and Mirko Bortolotti ended the day almost last for Toro Rosso only beating Ho-Pin Tung who only completed 4 laps in the Renault.
