Parente Set For Campos Drive
A Portuguese journalist has broken the news that countryman Alvaro Parente is on the verge of being confirmed at Campos Meta alongside Bruno Senna.
Parente, heavily backed by investment from Portugal, would benefit from driving for the Spanish team who are expecting drivers to come with big sponsorship packages.
Parente, currently a GP2 driver, drove a Renault F1 car in a test for winning the Renault World Series.
“Some of the companies have interests in Spain so it would be very positive for Alvaro’s sponsors to be with a Spanish team,” said the journalist Jorge Girao.
Vitaly Petrov is also said to be in the running, but the Russian is losing the patience of Campos as he struggles to get the required financing together for the race seat.
