Malaysian GP 2010: Hamilton Fastest Again In FP2

Lewis Hamilton once again set the pace in the second free practice session which mirrored a lot of the first session.

Sebastian Vettel imrpoved from 9th to 2nd, but otherwise Hamilton’s team mate Jenson Button and the two Mercedes Benz’s locked out the front 5.

Kubica was again strong for Renault in 6th, while Fernando Alonso improved to 7th.  Kubica’s team mate Petrov was 9th, while Massa in the sister Ferrari could only manage a 15th placed time.

Many drivers were complaining about the option soft tyre, and its grip.  Complaints of oversteer and significant levels of wheelspin were the norm over the team radio transmissions, but many did opt for a run on the green stripes late on – it is clear that the track requires significant rubbering in before they work, so look for them being used in the final session of the race if there is rain over Saturday night making the track green.
