ART Pull Out Of F3 Euroseries – Blow To Future F1 Drivers Hopes
ART Grand Prix, one of the more successful teams of the lower formulas, have announced they will be pulling out of the F3 Euroseries.
The multiple world championship winning team have helped drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Nico Hulkenberg and Romain Grosjean, work their way up to Formula One.
The series, which had been a premier lower open wheel racing category has struggled over the course of 2010, with smaller grid sizes and today’s announcement does not help at all.
“The F3 Euro Series was the ideal platform for ART Grand Prix, one on which the company based its growth and its success since the birth of the discipline in 2003,” said team boss Frederic Vasseur.
“It is with regret that due to the termination of our F3 programme we leave the F3 Euro Series after having obtained all the titles between 2004 and 2009.
“We make a point of thanking [engine supplier] HWA as well as our partners and drivers, but the time has come for ART Grand Prix to concentrate on new ambitious challenges.”
ART will be continuing with their GP2 team however.
