Renault Tweet Historic Final Bridgestone Moment

The Renault F1 Team over on Twitter just posted up two pictures of a historic moment for modern Formula One.  Photos of the final ever set of Bridgestone tyres being applied to a Formula One car.  For now at least!

Bridgestone are leaving F1 to make way for Pirelli to become the sole tyre manufacturer in the premier racing series.  The Japanese manufacturer have been working tirelessly since 1997 with the sport, through good times and bad times too.  Their history was chronicled by this website a few days ago.

However these tweets have now come to light with the final tyres being applied to young test driver Jerome d’Ambrosio’s car as he took to the circuit for the final few laps of the Abu Dhabi “Young Driver” test series.

With thanks to the official Renault F1 Paddock Pass twitter feed for the images.
